T-Rio

by James Christopher Monger
T-rio consist of triplets Thaísa, Thainá, and Thayan, who are dancers and actors as well as musicians. Born on November 10, 1984, in Brasilia, the siblings began dancing at a very young age, immersing themselves in the worlds of classical ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, as well as dabbling in acting. The public took to them immediately, and the sisters soon found themselves in Spain performing with the popular group Sandy & Júnior. After relocating to Rio de Janeiro, the girls began composing their own material. A theater job in France provided opportunities for the trio to branch out on their own, and in 2004 they released their first single, which received international acclaim. Their debut album, Choopeta, arrived soon after. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
