GO GREEN THIS SUMMER

Clearly, it's hot to be eco-friendly. Here are some ways to help out Mother Nature:

1. Buy organic foods -- Organic foods are more likely grown in an eco-friendly way with less use of harmful, non-organic pesticides that are harmful to the environment.

2. Stop buying bottled water -- Many people forget to recycle these bottles, and on top of that, the mass shipping creates a huge carbon footprint. Switch to a reusable water bottles.

3. Actually practice the 3 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. These tenets of being eco-friendly are taught to children in grade school. No matter how simple, doing them can actually make an impact!

4. Use cold water -- Although this may not be ideal for showers, you can use this technique when doing laundry. It takes a lot of energy to heat up the water, so try doing some loads with cold water.

5. Be mindful in the supermarket -- When buying produce, stick to products that aren't over-packaged. For example, buy loose tomatoes instead of packaged ones. Also, opt for reusable grocery bags, not paper or plastic
