Firefighters across a wide swath of north-central Alberta were abruptly pressed into service yesterday when different blazes erupted in several counties. The largest was a massive brush fire near Bruderheim, northeast of Edmonton. Ken Jones, deputy fire chief with Strathcona County Emergency Services, says 4 homes near Bruderheim were destroyed by the wildfires. The good news, nobody was hurt.
