And here I thought we had taken care of old man winter!  With a nasty turn in the weather -again, I buried my head in some pop culture and entertainment news.

First up...do you think the whole brouha over Miley Cyrus is overblown?  Yes she's a 15 year old superstar and role model for many.  Were the photos a mistake , inappropriate....were they scandalous?  It all seems so over blown.  I love her Hannah Montana show , my kids and I watch it all the time.  She is talented and quite funny but we're not gonna go overboard on this story.

Since I have kids most of the movies I watch are family flicks.  I am looking forward to seeing Iron Man--opening this weekend.  I've heard its great and I love to see men fly!  Also on the horizon one of my favorite childhood shows  "Speed Racer" and for sure we'll go see the new Indian Jones movie.  Its cool to be able to share the stories you saw as a kid with your own kids.  Now if they could only do a new version of Johnny Quest!  The new Batman movie looks pretty dark (which the comics really were back in the day) There's an on line trailer of the new movie which debuts on sunday at www.whysoserious.com/happytrails.com

Of course we keep you up to date on everything in hollywood with our own jimmy hollywood every week day at 8;10.  I found out that the huge fire in Hollywood that Jimmy reported Weds started in the famous "Basque" nightclub that has been featured in the movies "Oceans 11" and " Confidence".

Random stuff;  A cross Canada test of 13 year olds found that the best readers are in Ontario, the best math students are in Quebec and the best Science students are in Alberta!  We have a fantastic contest on our main web page for students to win a trip to the E-Science camps at the U of A this summer.  Check it out

Book I'm reading..."Late nights on the Air"  by Canadian author Elizabeth Hay

Finally...Do you have any great stories about your parents teaching you to drive?  My mom taught me how to drive and I've always considered myself a very good driver.  One minor fender bender in 30 years and I haven't had a speeding ticket in years but whenever I visit my mom I'm petrified to drive with her.  She's a real speed demon...screaming up to stop signs , slamming on the brakes then blasting off again.  She's retired!  Where's the fire.  If you have a funny story about learning to drive send me an email please--best story wins a cool prize.  smichaels@radio.astral.com
