It was back in 1993 in Holbrook, N.Y. when the lavish metal sounds of A Day For Honey were first hatched. Guitarist Frank Giacchetto first met bassist Anthony D'aiuto in high school, and although the two had different musical backgrounds and approaches (Anthonyhardcore, Frank- practice makes perfect), the duo realized they had a chemistry when it came to songwriting. They got friend Larry Gorman to bash on the drums (he had previously played with Orange 9mm), and soon realized that their sound was completely unique, including all the idiosyncrasies of their record collections (Pink Floyd, My Bloody Valentine, Helmet, Quicksand, King Crimson, etc.). They met singer Tracy Jorg through Frank's brother, who soon joined, and by the time second guitarist Ed Ciappa joined in 1995, their lineup was finalized. They caught the attention of Building Records (a subsidiary of TVT) head/producer Don Fury, who signed them and produced their self-titled debut, released in spring 1998. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
