Review by Daniel Gioffre
"It's been a lifetime mean from drinkin'/Cheatin' and shankin' man dead," sings C.C. Adcock on "Couchemal," the first track from his debut eponymous album. This line pretty well sums up this record, with its Louisiana swamp blues grooves and gritty lyrics. Any record that has a song called "Kissin' Kouzans" on it (a lovely ode to small-town intermarriage) is liable to have a distinctive vibe to it, and C.C. Adcock does not disappoint. In addition to having a great drawling vocal delivery, Adcock is also a fine guitarist, in a sloppy bayou kind of way. Read More
